A 2-a zi am iesit la plimbare cu Tom. Am mers prin tot orasul: La cumparaturi, la cinema, la piscina.. Se pare ca Tom.. ma iubeste, totusi. Dar ce inseamna “a iubi” pentru noi? Poate pentru el inseamna sex, si pentru mine simpla impartasire a afectiunii unul fata de altul.
Mai pe seara ne-am dus la un restaurant; am comandat ceva de baut si am inceput sa vorbim..
T: … si prin Anglia, prin Austria, daca vrei mergem si in Africa.. de ce nu si in China si Japonia…
S: Tom.. exagerezi .
T: Nu exagerez. Te iubesc doar.
Imi mangaie chipul cu un deget; apoi ma trage spre el si ma saruta.
T: Esti frumoasa..
S: Mersi. 
Am mancat si apoi ne-am pornit spre casa. In timp ce mergeam pe trecerea de pietoni, Tom imi spune:
T: Te iubesc.
Si ma saruta.
S: Si eu.
Tom ma trage cu forta.. Si in clipa urmatoare nu mai vad decat negru. In urmatoarea secunda ma trezesc pe un pat alb. Privesc in jur si incerc sa-mi amintesc ce s-a intamplat, dar degeaba.

In secunda urmatoare inchid iarasi ochii; si la scurt timp ii deschid.

AS(istenta): La spital.
S: Ce-am patit…
AS: Tu si cu prietenul tau ati avut un accident.

Inima imi bate din ce-n ce mai tare. Ma tem pentru Tom. El este cel care care va lasa zeci de mii de fani cu inima franta, nu eu.
AS: El e bine. Ar trebui sa-ti faci griji pentru tine.
S: Pof..?
Asistenta pleca, lasandu-ma cu vorba neterminata. Ma tot gandeam la ce spusese.. minute-n sir.. Pana cand un doctor in halat alb, in varsta, veni la mine.
D(octorul): Cum te simti?
S: Bi-ne.
D: Ia astea.
Imi intinde o pastila si un pahar cu apa. Le dau pe gat.
S: Ce am patit?
D: Ai avut un accident.
S: Stiu, dar..
D: Acum stai linistita. Vorbim mai incolo, trebuie sa fie si prietenul tau de fata.
S: Dar….
D: Niciun “dar”. Inapoi in pat.
Ma intind inapoi. Ma intreb ce legatura are Tom. Si de ce nu-mi zice nimeni ce se intampla? . Am stat in pat cateva ore pana a venit iarasi doctorul. Spre fericirea mea, Tom il insotea. Se aseza pe patul meu si doctorul incepu sa vorbeasca:
D: Baiete, cum te simti?
T: Mult mai bine.
D: Domnisoara..?
S: Si eu.
Se uita la mine.
D: Cu parere de rau va anunt ca.. Ati pierdut sarcina.
T&S:
S: S-sar…
T: ..cina?
D: Aaa.. Nu stiati?
S: Nu. Cat de avansata e.. a fost?
D: De o luna.
Eu si Tom ne uitam unul la altul.
D: Imi pare rau..

Este cateva zile am fost externata. Tom a venit si m-a luat de la spital. Muream de curiozitate, cum de el nu patise nimic.
T: Deci.. acum putem vorbi.
S: Ok.. incep eu. Cum de esti intreg?
T: Sa-ti explic.. Deci vedeam cum din partea ta vine cu viteza o masina. Primul gand a fost sa te trag deoparte, ca sa te protejez. Doar ca nu observasem ca si din partea in acre te mutasem venea o masina. Si prma masina, cea din partea in care erai, puse frana, asa ca pe mine abia daca ma lovise putin, in timp ce pe tine te lovise.. tare. Imi pare rau, singurul lucru care mi-a trecut prin minte a fost sa..
S: Stai linistit. Macar suntem vii, nu?
T: Ok, randul meu. Spune-mi. Stiai sau nu?
S: Tom.. Am mai discutat lucrul asta.
T: Stai linistita, nu-ti fac nimic daca zici ca stiai  .
S: Sunt o persoana sincera. Crezi ca nu iti spuneam imediat dupa ce aflam?
T: Ba da.. dar..
Cateva lacrimi imi cursera pe obraz. Pana acum nu constientizasem ce se intamplase, pentru ca eram prea socata. Sar in brate la Tom si el incepe sa ma mangaie pe spate.
T: Gata.. va fi bine..
S: N-nuu.. va-a… fi bin-ne..
Ii spuneam eu printre sughituri. Plangeam in hohote. Singura fiinta care ne lega.. Singura amintire a iubirii noastre.. S-a evaporat. Poc!
T: Nu mai plange..
Am simtit cum cateva lacrimi de-ale lui imi udara spatele. Asta insemna doar ca.. ii pasa .
